When I was young, my grandmother used to cook me these potato soups every time I visited her. When I thought of soups, this soup just popped into my head right away. This is how I made it.
The ingredients are: 1 whole potato, 1/4 onion, red pepper, soy sauce, salt, anchovy, pureed garlic, water, sesame oil.
1. Put in potatoes when the water is cold. When it comes to a boil, remove the foam that floats above.
2. Put in dried anchovy, Pureed garlic, Onions, salt pepper to taste and boil for about 10~15min.
3. Put in red pepper, 2Ts of soy sauce, 1ts of sesame oil, and boil for about 3~5 more min.
4. Remove, and enjoy your soup.

Usually, this soup didn't have pepper, but I tried to add some spicy flavour to the soup. My friend came over and tried my soup and he thought the spicy flavor went really good with the soup! Eventually, it was a success! To explain the taste, I think the taste is most similar to umami taste.
At home, I don't usually cook soups. But thanks to Food theory, I got a chance to cook soup at home. I was a little nervous of cooking soups, because I didn't try a lot before, but now I have the confidence to make soups from now haha. It was a great experience for me and this is the end of my post.
